Nose:

Surprisingly smooth for a strong liquor; more like white wine. Masked by caramel notes. Light. Sweet. Slight citrus at first, with Grape, Vanilla, Watermelon, elderflower, Fennel, sherbet then richer notes of Pine Nuts, Honey, tobacco, and sherry.

Palate:

Honey, Caramel, Brown Sugar, Treacle, Almond at first followed by a slight bittersweet sharpness; Sour Cherry, celery, aniseed, followed by a pleasant warmth, and return to the original sweet flavours, with a spiced undertone.

Finish:

Very soft and drinkable, the sweetness pervades to an after-dinner drink with cheese.
